Darleen Alice Carlson passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026. Darleen was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to the Deer Park community for many years. Darleen Alice Campbell was born on October 4, 1938, in Spokane, Washington. She completed her education at Kinman Business University and raised her 5 children on the Carlson farm in Deer Park, Washington. 


Darleen’s career included time as a bookkeeper at Fairmount Memorial Cemetery and Parkway Chevrolet in Deer Park. She was an active member of the American Business Women’s Associ- ation. Darleen’s proudest achievement was serving as a volunteer for the Deer Park community. She volunteered with the Deer Park/Clayton Community Fair Association, was an active member of the Alpaca Llama Show Association, and a founding member and past president of the Deer Park Friends of the Library. She enjoyed raising llamas, reading with her favorite dog by her side, and collecting vintage cars, a passion she shared with her husband Frank of 62 years. 


Darleen was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Luella Campbell, and brother Darryl Campbell. Darleen is survived by her husband, Frank Carlson, aunt Barbara Weed, children, Kris Barnes, Kathy (Wes) Waddell, Kevin (Laura) Carlson, Kim (David) Lucas, Gloria (Robert) Hartley, and Stepson Troy (Patty) Carlson, sister-in-law Nancy Campbell, and too many cousins and family members to list. Darleen was proud to claim 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A celebration of Darleen’s life will be held at the Riverview Chapel, located at 1801 E Upriver Drive, Spokane, on Friday, October 9 at 10:30. The family invites all who wish to attend and share their favorite memories.
