Hundreds of bubbles filled the air as students at Deer Park Elementary celebrated BubbleFest, a schoolwide reward earned through the school's Ranger Ticket program. The celebration marked the latest milestone in a positive behavior initiative that has been part of Deer Park Elementary's culture for more than a decade, said Deer Park Elementary School Principal Jollene Vining. While the program has evolved over the years, Vining said its purpose has remained consistent – recognizing students for positive behavior and helping build a strong school community. “Students earn Ranger Tickets by demonstrating the school's core expectations of being respectful, responsible, safe, and kind,” said Vining. “Throughout the school year, staff continually teach and reinforce what those behaviors look and sound like in classrooms, hallways, the cafeteria, recess, and other school settings. The goal is to create a shared understanding of positive behavior and help students feel successful in meeting those expectations every day.” The excitement surrounding BubbleFest was evident as soon as students learned they had earned the reward. "We announced the BubbleFest celebration during a school assembly, and the students erupted in cheers and excitement," Vining shared. "It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and pride in reaching the goal together as a school community." Vining said she feels the Ranger Ticket program has a positive impact on the school environment. “Students take great pride in earning Ranger Tickets and are genuinely excited when their positive behavior is recognized. The program helps us build a strong culture around what it means to be a Ranger at Deer Park Elementary,” she said. “Over time, students begin encouraging one another and taking ownership of creating a positive school environment.” For Deer Park Elementary students, celebrations such as BubbleFest can represent more than just a fun day. “These events create opportunities for joy, connection, and positive memories that students carry with them long after the celebration is over,” commented Vining.
