R.R. Grove, operator of Grove’s dry goods store, has gone east to visit relatives. He expects to be gone about a month. His son, Chester Grove, will operate the store in his father’s absence.

The annual spring concert of Deer Park grade school music organizations will be given Monday evening, April 22, at the high school gym. The boys’ chorus will sing “Comrades of the Road” and “Bells of St. Mary’s;” the rhythm band will play “June Waltz,” “Rhythm Band,” and “On the Good Ship Lollypop.”

Vaccinations for smallpox were administered by Spokane County Health nurses at the Deer Park schools, Monday, April 8, to hundreds of children and adults of Deer Park and the surrounding community.

“Fairyland” is to be the theme of the annual Junior prom to be held Friday evening, April 12, at the high school gymnasium. Decorations for the event will bear out that motif.

Seventy-three youngsters were taken on a roller skating party to Cook’s rink Wednesday evening, March 20. They all went down in a school bus driven by Willis Cofer.

Deer Park seventh graders will stage a waste paper drive next week. Only first class paper will be collected. Reason for the decision is that lower grades of paper bring too little per ton to justify preparation and hauling to Spokane.
