August Westby, rural mail carrier at Clayton, was found dead beneath a car he had been repairing at the Christine Cowan home near Clayton, late Saturday afternoon.

Ruth Roye and her high school mount, “Red Beauty,” are one of the many features with Sello Bros. big three-ring circus coming to Deer Park on Aug. 5.

Fanny Simington was an overnight visitor at the Chas. Evans home. She is Charles’ sister and has been visiting her father, Art Simington, near Colville. She left Monday for Oregon to visit her mother. 

A party was given at the Grange hall for Mr. and Mrs. Willie Weyland, newlyweds of Elk.

The Clayton Home Economics club met at the home of Mrs. Elfa Lambier July 10 with Mrs. Emma Stewart as co-hostess.

Thanks, Deer Park! I want to thank the folks of Deer Park and vicinity for the overwhelming majority they gave me in Tuesday’s primary election.

Woodrow Mickelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Mickelson, surprised his folks (and everybody else) by getting married in Montana.

 On July 1, the Deer Park Pine Industry Inc., will succeed the Deer Park Lumber Company in operating the lumber mill and factories at Deer Park. W.M. Leuthold, who has been active head of the Deer Park Lumber Company.

Loon Lake was represented at the circus in Deer Park by nearly every family except the Folletts.

One of the dozens of jungle-bred wild and beautiful beasts that will be seen in the menagerie at the Montgomery Wild Animal Circus at its showing in Deer Park Tuesday, June 11.

R.R. Grove, operator of Grove’s dry goods store, has gone east to visit relatives. He expects to be gone about a month. His son, Chester Grove, will operate the store in his father’s absence.

The annual spring concert of Deer Park grade school music organizations will be given Monday evening, April 22, at the high school gym. The boys’ chorus will sing “Comrades of the Road” and “Bells of St. Mary’s;” the rhythm band will play “June Waltz,” “Rhythm Band,” and “On the Good Ship Lollypop.”

Vaccinations for smallpox were administered by Spokane County Health nurses at the Deer Park schools, Monday, April 8, to hundreds of children and adults of Deer Park and the surrounding community.

“Fairyland” is to be the theme of the annual Junior prom to be held Friday evening, April 12, at the high school gymnasium. Decorations for the event will bear out that motif.
