Deer Park High School graduate Hunter Dryden, class of 2020, is moving up on the minor league baseball ladder. Last week, his former high school coach, Darren Snyder, said he was informed by Dryden’s father, Dean Dryden, that the next stop for the former Stag will be with the San Francisco Giants High "A" Northwest League affiliate in Eugene, Ore.

Twenty-eight high school track and field teams will converge on Deer Park High School for the annual Glenn Wolf Invitational track and field meet on April 3.

Deer Park resident Kenny Campbell retired years ago, but now enjoys a second career as an author. He’s released two books, “Stories I Lived” and “More Stories I Lived,” and said he just might have a third in him.

When asked if the label “historian” was appropriate for him, Wally Lee Parker insisted, “amateur historian.” Born in 1945 in Tulare, Calif., Parker grew up in Williams Valley, west of Deer Park, where his family migrated to settle on a farm in 1947.
