The Clayton Farmers Market at the Clayton Fairgrounds kicks off on June 7

The Deer Park Church of the Nazarene is rebuilding after their church was condemned, and is inviting former members and people in the community to celebrate its 75th anniversary on Sunday, June 7.

A group of business partners is moving forward with plans to turn an 11-acre parcel of land bordering Airport Road in Deer Park into the home of future athletic facilities, according to co-owner Adam Smith.

The former Diversified Lube location in Deer Park was purchased by Valvoline Instant Oil Change at the end of March and quickly reopened under its new name in April. Manager Josh Smith said the location reopened approximately a week-and-a-half after the keys were handed over.

Anytime Fitness, located at 3 W. Crawford Street in Deer Park is entering a new chapter as longtime owner Shannon Schroyer passed the torch to new owner Allison Mitchell,. Schroyer, who owned and operated the gym for almost 20 years, said she worked to build a strong foundation and loyal membership base.

For the fifth year in a row, Inlander magazine named a small Loon Lake business as one of the best distilleries in the Inland Northwest. 

Justin Reardon and his wife, Mayve Reardon, have brought back to life the Clayton concrete business started by his parents decades ago, changing the name from CR Concrete to Commemorative Concrete.

A new mobile dog grooming business is set to open next month. Based out of the Valley area, Gone to the Dogs Mobile Grooming will offer grooming services to dogs between north Spokane and Colville, according to Kitt Nelson, owner and operator.

JB Bees, a new bee supply store that opened in Chattaroy last year, has added live bees as a purchasing option for those interested in starting beekeeping or adding a new hive to their collection.

People in the Deer Park area with a little too much stuff on their hands have a new option for getting it removed. Two weeks ago, Elk resident and business owner Mark Burgard unveiled his bright orange trailer for his And It’s Gone junk removal company, and has already seen demand for his services.

Tina Kyser has spent a lifetime growing vegetables for her family.  “I used to grow in my backyard, and I was just running out of space. So, I decided to bring it up on a bigger scale,” said Kyser.
