The Deer Park Church of the Nazarene is rebuilding after their church was condemned, and is inviting former members and people in the community to celebrate its 75th anniversary on Sunday, June 7.

A group of business partners is moving forward with plans to turn an 11-acre parcel of land bordering Airport Road in Deer Park into the home of future athletic facilities, according to co-owner Adam Smith.

The former Diversified Lube location in Deer Park was purchased by Valvoline Instant Oil Change at the end of March and quickly reopened under its new name in April. Manager Josh Smith said the location reopened approximately a week-and-a-half after the keys were handed over.

Anytime Fitness, located at 3 W. Crawford Street in Deer Park is entering a new chapter as longtime owner Shannon Schroyer passed the torch to new owner Allison Mitchell,. Schroyer, who owned and operated the gym for almost 20 years, said she worked to build a strong foundation and loyal membership base.

Tina Kyser has spent a lifetime growing vegetables for her family.  “I used to grow in my backyard, and I was just running out of space. So, I decided to bring it up on a bigger scale,” said Kyser.
