

Colville Softball Team Explodes for 17 Runs in Season-Opening Win Over Kettle Falls

The Colville Crimson Hawks opened the 2026 softball season with a football score on Saturday, March 14, defeating the Kettle Falls Bulldogs 17-8 in a nonleague matchup between 1A and 2B schools.
Colville racked up 12 hits and took advantage of seven Bulldog errors to build a lead before closing out the win.
Kettle Falls struck first, plating three runs in the top of the first inning. Colville answered immediately with three runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning, then added four more in the second inning.
The Bulldogs tied the game up 8-8 with four runs in the third, but Colville posted nine runs in the final two innings.
Ayven McCurdy led Colville’s offense with a big day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Leadoff hitter Natalie Housworth also had a strong opener, finishing 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
Kelsea Lewis added two hits, a double, two runs and an RBI, while Georgia Beardslee notched a double, scored three runs and drove in another. Aubree Kubesh contributed a hit, two runs and two RBIs, and Addie Marshall added a hit and two RBIs.
Kendra Lewis also chipped in with a triple and an RBI for Colville.
In the circle, Kolee Titmus earned the win for Colville. Titmus worked four innings, striking out seven while allowing six hits and eight runs, three of them earned. Kubesh took over in relief and was dominant down the stretch, pitching three hitless innings while striking out five.
Kettle Falls finished with six hits in the game and showed early offensive punch
Several Bulldogs contributed offensively, including multiple players who recorded hits and RBIs as Kettle Falls attempted to keep pace with Colville’s high-powered lineup. Senior Audrey Morales had a hit and RBI. Leadoff hitter Lily Larsen had a hit and scored two runs in the matchup. She also pitched the entire game for the Bulldogs, striking out seven.
Colville faced East Valley on Monday, March 16; game results were not available at press time. They are scheduled to play Liberty at home on Thursday, March 19, at 3 p.m.
Kettle Falls is scheduled to host Tonasket on Saturday, March 21, at noon.
