Deer Park Baseball Wins Doubleheader

The Deer Park baseball team began the back half of their Greater Spokane League 2A schedule in the same manner as they opened the first half, dominating Rogers on the Pirates Hillyard home field on April 18.
In the opening 16-5 win, Ian Olietti and Parker Hamilton each collected four hits and scored three runs. Hamilton also drove in a pair. Ezekiel Callaham drove in two with a pair of hits, as did Payson Hansen. Pedar Tobeck and Austin Bruner had two hits each, while Evan Brinlee scored twice and Carter Criss drove in two. Callaham and Hunter Robb combined on the mound to strike out seven while only walking one.
The second game featured a dominating pitching performance by Olietti, with a five-inning one-hitter with seven strikeouts. Robb had three hits, scoring twice. Tobeck, Nikoli Hunsaker, and Caden Knudsvig had two hits each, while Olietti and Bruner each scored two times. The Stags dominated, winning the game 13-0.
The Stags wrap up their home schedule with a single game against North Central, scheduled for Wednesday, but at press time, the weather forecast could move up the game to Tuesday, April 21. The final home game is Friday, April 24, with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against East Valley.
