The Deer Park football team bounced back from a narrow defeat at East Valley with a resounding 48-0 victory over North Central on Oct. 16 at Deer Park High School. Many attendees were not even in their seats when the Stags got on the board. After receiving the opening kickoff, senior running back Eion Bogle broke through the North Central defense and galloped 57 yards untouched for a 7-0 lead only 19 seconds into the game.

On their opening possession of the second quarter, senior running back Carter Criss capped a seven-play drive that he kept alive with a fourth-down converting run, scoring from 21 yards out and increasing the lead to 14-0. The Stag defense then had its turn to get into the scoring act. Senior defensive end Cam Noel, who was a frequent visitor to the North Central offensive backfield, sacked the Wolfpack quarterback, Cadence Dennis, then stripped the ball and collected the recovery in the end zone for a 21-0 home side lead. North Central was forced to punt the ball back to the Stags.

Bogle broke free for a 45-yard run on first down. Two plays later senior receiver Kale Blades ran in from seven yards on a reverse pushing the Stag advantage to 28-0. Following a Wolfpack punt, junior receiver Issac Wadleigh needed only two plays all on his own to score. He made a diving 34-yard reception from senior signal caller Ian Olietti then scored on a 19-yard run the following play for the halftime margin of 35-0. North Central would lose a fumble on their opening possession of the sec- ond half which led to a Criss 20-yard scoring scamper. The final score of the evening was a Travis Trampush 15- yard run at the end of a six-play drive. Deer Park is set to host Clarkston at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23.
