Lady Stags will be off until May 13 when they are scheduled to host a district semifinal with the opponent yet to be determined.
With the regular season Greater Spokane League 2A title already clinched, the Deer Park Lady Stags softball team had one more item on their wish list: an undefeated league record on a May 5 road trip to the Lewis-Clark Valley. Standing in their way was a Clarkston team, still in a battle for playoff seeding and a possible opening round district playoff game on their home field. The same Bantams team that took Deer Park to the wire on their home field the week before spring break. While their bats did plenty of damage, the pitching was stellar. Hailey Thompson and Mady Ellingson combined on a two-hit shutout. Lucy Lathrop homered twice, running her single season program record to 17, while scoring three times, and driving in three runs. Jillian Marshall had two hits, scored twice, and stole two bases. Kapri Bailey and Ally Ellingson each contributed a pair of hits, and Kaitlyn Reiter scored two runs. Deer Park clinched the win at 11-0. While the dust settled around playoff seeding with games on May 8, the Lady Stags will be off until May 13 when they are scheduled to host a district semifinal with the opponent yet to be determined.
