Elk Pioneer Days Celebrates 50 Years of Community Tradition

Community members gathered June 19-20 to celebrate the 50th annual Elk Pioneer Days, one of the area's longest-running community traditions. The weekend kicked off Friday with vendors selling local goods before the all-ages family dance. Live music from Dr. Sly & the Culprits kept attendees on the dance floor and set the tone for a weekend of celebration. Saturday began with the Elk Fire Station Breakfast, where residents and visitors were offered pancakes and other items before making their way to the parade route. Community members lined the streets to watch the annual parade, which featured a variety of floats, community organizations, and local groups celebrating Elk's rich history and community spirit. The event moved to Elk Park following the parade, where attendees had many activities to choose from. Children participated in a scavenger hunt and games, while others explored a car show, visited food vendors, and enjoyed face painting. Other popular attractions included a cake walk and a corn hole tournament. Visitors also had the opportunity to learn more about the area's history through displays presented at Camden Grange. The celebration concluded Saturday evening with the Elk Days Dance at the VFW with live music by My Own Worst Enemy.
