Kettle Falls Girls Basketball Eliminated in District Loss

The Kettle Falls girls basketball season came to an end Saturday, Feb. 14, with a 52-28 loss to Lind-Ritzville/Sprague in a District 6 2B loser-out contest at West Valley High School.

The Lady Bulldogs (7-15, 4-8) faced a hot-shooting Broncos (17-6, 7-3) squad that was led by Zoe Galbreath, who poured in 35 points, including six 3-pointers. 

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague jumped out to a 14-6 advantage after the first quarter and extended the margin to 26-9 by halftime. The Broncos widened the gap in the third quarter with a 20-point effort to take control of the game.

Kettle Falls was led by Wyn Edwards, who finished with 16 points. Edwards connected on five field goals and went 5-of-9 from the free-throw line to pace the Bulldogs offensively. Shelby Shurrum added nine points, knocking down three 3-pointers.

The Bulldogs finished with nine field goals and shot 5-of-13 from the free-throw line. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague converted 11-of-14 attempts at the stripe and hit seven shots from beyond the arc.
