Lakeside Goalkeeper Stays Busy with Back-to-Back Shut Outs

Lakeside girls soccer goalkeeper Kira Mace was stellar in two shutout victories in Northeast "A" League play for the league-leading Eagles with home shutout wins over Medical Lake and Colville last week. Lakeside saw a three-goal performance by Blakeleigh White as the Eagle blanked Medical Lake 4-0 on Oct. 13. White assisted on the fourth tally scored by Sydney Webster.

The Eagles out- shot the visitors 22-4. Two days later, Colville visited Nine Mile Falls. While the shot total was closer, with the Eagles taking nine and the visitors six, Mace again kept every shot out of the net in a 2-0 triumph. White scored the first goal in the 28th minute on a pass from Webster and scored again in the 41st minute assisted by Lauren Karl and Webster. Lakeside played at Medical Lake on Tuesday, Oct. 20, with results unavail- able at press time, and are scheduled to play at Colville Thursday, Oct. 22, at 4 p.m.
