Tri-County Little League squads, hosts of the 2026 Washington District 13 tournament, saw their squads split a pair of games in the opening round on June 20 at the Deer Park Sports Complex. Their minors baseball team scored an opening round victory over West Plains by a 12-2 tally after spotting the opposition the first two runs of the contest. Owen Wainwright, Wyatt Tipton, Levi Schoenrock, Matthew Leaven- worth, and Michael Riehle reached base by walking or hit by pitch and all scored in the five run second inning. James Gannon walked and Schoen- rock singled in the third inning with both scoring to push the Tri-County ad- vantage to 7-2. The local squad would end the game in four innings as they plated five runs in the fourth inning. Lukas Wright singled, Riehle reached on an error, Joel Parton singled, Gannon singled, and Wainwright walked with all scoring to close out the win. Parton went the distance on the mound for the win. The 10-11 age ground softball squad kicked off the day, also against West Plains. Trailing 4-0 in the second inning, Sa- die Devoe walked and Corrine Riehle was hit by a pitch, narrowing the West Plains lead at the time to 4-2. In the top of the fourth inning, Tri-County would score again as Sadie Whisman singled and scored. West Plains claimed the opening round victory 13-3.
