Northwest.Inspect Brings Experience to Vehicle Purchases

A new Deer Park-based business hopes to take the uncertainty out of buying a used car by bringing professional vehicle inspections directly to customers. Northwest.Inspect launched on July 2 and offers mobile automotive, pre-purchase, and safety inspections throughout Deer Park, Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Airway Heights, Chewelah, Colville, and surrounding communities.

Owner Isaac Waggoner said the business was born out of years of seeing customers purchase vehicles that turned out to be unsafe or required thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs. “When I was working as a technician, I frequently saw customers come in with a vehicle they had just purchased,” Waggoner said. “We would perform an inspection and often I would find the vehicle was unsafe, unreliable and needed thousands in repairs. Our goal is to save our customers the time, money, and headache of costly vehicle repairs and downtime.”

Rather than opening a traditional repair shop, Waggoner said he chose a mobile business model that makes the inspection process more “convenient” for buyers. “Most people don’t have the time to get approval from the seller and bring the vehicle into a shop for an inspection,” he said. “With our service, the customer simply sets a location and time with the seller. I arrive, perform the inspection, write the report, and send it to the customer while they’re able to go about their day.” Waggoner said he believes Northwest. Inspect fills a need that many people don’t even realize exists. “There are no other small businesses in the area performing on-site inspections like this,” he said.

“We provide a service that most people didn’t know existed, but one that’s really needed.” He added that new customers have said “I wish I knew about you before” after working with him. Originally from a small town in northern California, Waggoner said he served in the U.S. Army before moving to the Deer Park area to be closer to family. He and his wife, Mackenzie, purchased their first home in Deer Park, where he has spent the past six years working full-time as a diesel technician. He added that his military service helped develop his mechanical knowledge while emphasizing the importance of maintenance and preventative care. After leaving the Army, he attended Universal Technical Institute, earning certifications in collision and auto body repair, as well as heavy-duty diesel repair before beginning his career in the automotive repair industry.

Waggoner said the most rewarding part of owning the business has been helping customers avoid expensive mistakes. He said he has enjoyed “talking with people and finding out how needed this service really is, as well as knowing the customer is happy with their investment.” One of the biggest hurdles has been educating people that mobile vehicle inspections are even available. “Most people don’t know this type of service even exists,” Waggoner said. “Our goal is to become a trusted name that people refer to when purchasing a vehicle.”

While the business is ideal for anyone buying a used vehicle, Waggoner said Northwest.Inspect also serves vehicle owners who want added confidence before hitting the road. “Our ideal customer is someone who isn’t familiar with vehicles or simply doesn’t have the time to inspect one themselves, but wants to make sure their investment is worth the money, time, and effort,” he said. “We also help people who are planning a long road trip and want a professional inspection to make sure their vehicle is safe and ready to travel.”

According to Waggoner, customers appreciate the convenience of having someone come to the vehicle rather than rearranging their schedules. “They love that we’re a non-biased third-party inspector and that they don’t have to take time out of their daily life to feel confident in their investment,” he said. He added that some of his favorite moments come when an inspection prevents someone from making a costly purchase. “Anytime I can save a customer from a financial burden and headache [is a win],” he said.
