The Riverside baseball team put a damper on the hopes for Medical Lake to keep pace with league-leading Lakeside and Colville with a 6-5 victory on the Cardinals' field on April 25 in eight innings.
Rams sophomore Luke Reedy pitched into the sixth inning before yielding to Cody Wilson who completed the contest. Reedy added a triple offensively to go with the three RBIs alongside a two-stolen-base performance by Gregory Stiles. The Rams scored four in the top of the eighth and survived a three run rally by the Cardinals in the bottom of the inning.
In the opener, the Rams were held to only four hits in a 12-0 defeat.
The Rams and Cardinals concluded their season series on Tuesday, April 28, with results unavailable at press time. Riverside is set to host Colville for a doubleheader on Saturday at 10 a.m.
