The Riverside softball team had a busy opening week with four games, three of them away from home.
They opened the season on March 18 against former Northeast "A" League foe, now Northeast 2B stalwart, Freeman.
The visitors did all of their damage in the opening two frames on their way to a 14-0 victory. Izzy Cotner and Reece Morris collected hits for the Rams, with Morris making hers a double.
One day later, they were on the road to face 2B foe Warden, where some extra work was put in. The game would go eight innings with the home side scoring the walk-off win. Josie Eastman scored twice and had two hits for the Rams. Lindsey Hudson-Wayne pitched the complete game and struck out eight while getting two hits on the offensive side. Cotner and Makenna Distad each had a pair of hits.
Richland was their destination on March 21 as the Rams fell to Lake City of Coeur d'Alene 18-2, and West Valley of Yakima 10-0 in a pair of neutral-site contests.
The Rams made the short trip to Spirit Lake on Tuesday for a matchup with Timberlake, with results unavailable at press time.
