The Riverside baseball squad faced a four-game slate of non-league play during their spring break.

The Rams traveled to Newport on April 7 for a pair of contests: the first of the day against the host Grizzlies, a former foe from the Northeast "A" League.

Sophomore Luke Reedy was the marquee performer for the Rams, both on the mound and at the plate. He started pitching, striking out 10 and, on the offensive side, scored four times and tallied four stolen bases. Austin Jenkinson drove in three with two hits, one of them a triple. Gregory Stiles scored twice and swiped a pair of bags. Nathan Lee scored twice while Bryce Olson and Cody Wilson each had a pair of stolen bases. Riverside ultimately lost 13-12.

Jenkinson started on the mound in the second game of the day against Priest River, recording 10 strikeouts over five innings, but the Spartans prevailed 4-2 in a defensive-minded affair.  Olson had two steals and scored one of the Rams runs.

Another former Northeast "A" League counterpart, Freeman, visited the Chattaroy campus on April 11. The Scotties, a class 2B state finalist a year ago, recorded wins by 20-5 and 22-5 final tallies. Stiles totaled six hits and four runs batted in on the day.

Riverside travels to Nine Mile Falls to face Lakeside for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 18.
