The Riverside High School football team secured the Northeast "A" League title with a dominant 50-28 victory over Medical Lake on Oct. 23 at Riverside High School. Senior running back Zach Schneider's powerful running game that saw him score a pair of touchdowns propelled the Rams to the win over the Cardinals. The Riverside de- fense would account for the game's first score when Bodey Schweiger scooped up a Cardinals fumble and returned it 7 yards for a touchdown. Medical Lake would score a touchdown and two-point conversion for a short-lived lead before the home side scored the next four touchdowns. Cade Koesel scored the first touchdown as the reigning WIAA Athlete of the Week on a 9-yard run. Schneider accounted for the next two tallied on runs of 1 and 71 yards. Javontae Chambers pushed the Rams advantage to 36-8 on a 1-yard scoring run.

Following a Medical Lake score, Elliott Schneider galloped 40 yards for a Riverside touchdown followed by Koesel hauling in a 31- yard scoring reception from Luke Reedy for the final Rams touchdown. Riverside is set to conclude their regular season at home against Colville Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m., with a week 10 game in the opening round of the state playoffs on the horizon as well.
