A new Deer Park business aims to provide a private place to slow down, recharge, and focus on well-being, combining several wellness technologies into one personalized experience. Studio Reset, owned by Jonathan and Jen Johnson, began welcoming customers in September and officially opened in October. Located at 23 E. Crawford, the business offers members a private wellness suite where they can spend an uninterrupted hour focusing on relaxation and recovery. “Studio Reset is where people can make recovery and consistent selfcare part of their routine,” Jonathan Johnson said. “Whether someone is working out, managing everyday stress, or simply feeling worn down by life, we offer a quiet place to give the body time to recover and the mind a chance to relax.” According to Johnson, Studio Reset combines several wellness experiences, including advanced red and near-infrared light therapy, pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy, whole-body vibration, chair massage, and guided meditation.

The red light therapy system uses seven wavelengths, providing exposure across the body. Johnson said the business offers medical-grade red light therapy equipment that he describes as among the most powerful available without a prescription. The PEMF system combines pulsed elec- tromagnetic fields with infrared heat and photon red light. Members can also use a whole-body vibration plate, which Johnson said can serve as an exercise tool, but is primarily intended to support lymphatic sys- tem activity. A chair massage provides another option for relaxation, particularly for people who may not feel comfortable with a traditional massage therapist or want an alternative between massage appointments. Another offering is the BrainTap headset, which uses light and sound as part of a guid- ed relaxation experience. “It helps to re-map the brain,” Johnson said. “It uses light and sound to help the mind. It's literally the second-most talked-about service we have.” Guided meditation and immersive audio are also available for members who want to incorporate additional relaxation into their visits.

The Johnsons also own InSPArations Spa in Spokane Valley, where they have spent years helping people access wellness services in a welcoming, affordable setting. Both are endurance athletes and said their personal experiences, along with their work in the wellness industry, helped inspire Studio Reset. “Stress and anxiety are such a big part of everyday life,” Johnson said. “At InSPArations, we’ve seen how much people value having ways to relax and recharge.” The couple wanted to bring together several of the experiences that had helped their customers and make them available in one visit while keeping the cost affordable. They also heard from Deer Park residents who wanted access to the services offered at InSPArations without having to travel to Spokane Valley. Rather than making the substantial investment required to open another full spa location, the Johnsons developed Studio Reset as a smaller, private alternative. The name reflects their hope for their members. “The name describes what we hope people experience here: an opportunity to pause, recharge, and return to the rest of their day feeling refreshed,” Johnson said.

Unlike other wellness businesses where customers may share space with others or be approached about additional services, Studio Reset is designed around privacy and convenience. Members can schedule their own one-hour appointments 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and have the suite to themselves. The Johnsons said they plan to keep membership intentionally limited to approximately 30-35 people to maintain that personal experience; they have 11 members signed up. Johnson said operating without staff on site was part of the plan, but developing a system to make that possible presented some challenges. “There wasn’t anything quite like Studio Reset for us to use as a model, so we had to figure out many things from scratch,” Johnson said.

He shared that obtaining insurance was one hurdle, as providers were unfamiliar with how to underwrite this type of business. The couple also needed a way for customers to get information and schedule appointments without an employee on site. Their solution was Jade, an automated assistant designed to answer questions and help people book appointments. Johnson said the system is still being trained and occasionally experiences minor glitches, but customers have responded positively to the process. The most rewarding part of opening Studio Reset has been making a difference in people’s lives. “Hearing people say they’re hurting less and sleeping better has made all the effort worth it,” Johnson said. “That kind of feedback means a lot to us.” Johnson said the couple has also been surprised by how much customers appreciate being left alone to enjoy their sessions without staff approaching them about upgrades or additional purchases. “Several people have told us they had no idea how much they needed a place like this until they tried it,” Johnson said. “Some have described the experience as life-changing, and hearing that has been incredibly rewarding.”

Looking ahead, the Johnsons hope to open additional Studio Reset locations in surrounding communities such as Nine Mile Falls, Airway Heights, and Rathdrum. “We want Studio Reset to be the affordable wellness option the community needs,” Johnson said. “We feel we’re headed in the right direction, and we hope it becomes a place people can count on to step away, recharge, and take care of themselves.” For more information, call or text 509-300-5575 or visit mystudioreset. com.
