Betty Jean Staehly

Betty Jean Staehly, 97, passed away February 21, 2026, in Spokane. Betty was born March 26, 1928, in Furnas County Nebraska to Albert Askey and Mertie (Shield) Askey. She moved to Spokane with her family in 1940, where she graduated from John Roger's High School. She married Albert Staehly in 1948, and they resided in Kettle Falls for 61 years before moving to Spokane in 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Staehly and her daughter, Nancy (Staehly) Lyons. She is survived by her daughter Anita Baivier of Fairfax, Virginia, three grandchildren and four great-grand-children.
